Fall came as scheduled in September, autumn’s eye-candy appeared only a few weeks ago, and again, I’m entranced. For hours, I can take in the yellows, golds, oranges, reds of the season, but autumn, for me, means the combines and trucks are rolling picking soybeans and corn and my time is no longer mine alone.
Last week while enjoying a walk to get some exercise, and take in the colors, I got a call, “Can you go for…”, because I’m the designated go-fer, a beautiful walk was cut short. That’s part of the business of farming, something breaks or is forgotten, and whatever the go-fer is doing is dropped. But I did get to view another piece of autumn’s eye-candy.
